After taking delivery of our streetboardz (2 x dragon + 1 x cruiser) and safety gear in recent weeks it is time to get them out and work on our basic techniques before the club comp the following weekend.
We have 3 Streetboardz and safety gear to test with some guidance from our clubs tablet on drills to improve on the basic surfing techniques.
We will be looking for some clear concrete at either the old skating rink at Neilson’s or the basket ball court if no one is using it in the morning from 9am to 1030am.
I will bring down the club trailer and if you haven’t seen the expanded gear we have purchased from the recent community benefit grant, come down and have a look through the trailer and gear and a chat. The morning will be run by your club’s newly accredited surf and stand-up paddle coach – El Presidente’. I plan to run some structured sessions for those interested in assisting the club access some of the Surfing Queensland training and funding program ‘rookie to shredder’ to continue to develop our club in training and funding. Come on down, sign on and work through the program.
Those interested in coming, please ensure you have shoes on if you want to use the gear and bring your safety gear and helmet if you have some. If not, the cub has some to use with the streetboardz. All kids will have to use the safety gear if they want to use the gear until they have proven their competency. We can only encourage the adults to do the same……….
If we get a big turnout please be patient as we share the gear and access to the training program.
There will be more of these training days into the future so if you can’t make this one don’t panic as we will get you next time
